I chose to film my dog because her body language is much livelier than mine. I wanted to capture her inquisitive nature and her acute senses in action; many of the clips that I recorded were in observance of her sensing her surroundings. I love the quiet sapience of older dogs and how they take on the behavior of a sentry, silently regarding their territory. I also filmed these clips over an extended period to capture the time passing from daytime to the nascent nightfall and serenity it heralds. It almost felt like being one with the dog.
